First Post – Three Card Reading 10/31/13

Blessed Samhain Everyone!

I thought that this would be the perfect day to get this blog started. So today I have a three card reading for you guys, using the Universal Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot deck. In this three card reading I am not using specific designations for each position, rather I am looking at all three cards together as one big picture and gaining information based on their interactions with eachother. So let’s take a look at the first card.

Looks like we have the Seven of Cups. I see this card as indicating a situation where you feel stuck, either because you are spending a lot of time daydreaming about what you want instead of putting in the work to actually manifest your desires or because you are overwhelmed by too many choices and don’t know which to pick. It can also be a call to look at your situation in a more realistic light. Since the treasures that the figure in the card is transfixed by are floating on a cloud out of his reach, it could mean that the things you are spending all of your time dreaming about are out of your reach and you need to focus your energy on goals that are more attainable

The next card in our reading is the Hanged Man. This card suggests taking a deliberate step back, trying to look at your situation from a different vantage point, doing some introspection with the intention of gaining clarity and insight. Its interesting that the Hanged Man, like the Seven of Cups, is about inaction, but unlike the Seven of Cups, where you are stuck and overwhelmed or fixated on all the things in front of you, with the Hanged Man you are choosing to be inactive, with the deliberate intention of looking inward and seeking answers and guidance. If the Seven of Cups is pushing you to evaluate your goals to make sure they are realistic, the Hanged Man is enforcing that information, and offering you a way to do it. Get out of the box and try to get at the issue from a different angle.

And the final card is the Page of Cups. Court Cards, like this Page, can mean several things, they can refer to a person of youthful energy and a childlike nature, they can indicate a new beginning or undertaking. In this case, however, I believe that it is indicating that through the process of The Hanged Man, you will receive an intuitive message (Page’s frequently indicate messages and Cups are the suit of emotions, feelings and intuition.) which will guide you as you try to resolve your current situation.

I also found it interesting that of the three cards, two of them are Cups, which seems to suggests that this may be  an emotionally charged situation and it would be worth considering to what extent your emotions and feelings are playing into your current predicament and whether they are aiding you or hurting you.

That’s all for today. I hope you enjoyed this reading and found it helpful. Have a safe and happy Halloween and I will be back next week with another post.
